Inmate Accused of Biting Correctional Officer During Fight

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - An inmate at the Clinton County Correctional Facility is accused of biting a correctional officer on Wednesday. The incident happened around 4:30 p.m.

Police say Jesse Wheldon, 24, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., bit the officer who was trying to break up an altercation at the jail.

The officer was treated at CVPH and released.

Wheldon is charged with assault on a peace officer, 3rd degree menacing, and 3rd degree assault. He was arraigned and was held without bail based upon prior felony convictions.
