The British re-enactors began on August 30 and marched for three days until their final camp site in West Chazy at Guma’s restaurant near Route 22. The route they are taking on Route 22 is roughly the same to what the soldiers walked 200 years ago. On Monday, they march the longest length, about 10 miles, through Beekmantown and will end at Post 20 American Legion which was temporary British headquarters during this battle.
The march ends today but the commemoration of The Battle of Plattsburgh continues until September 13 with concerts, other re-enactments, exhibits and much more throughout the next two weeks.
