ALBANY, N.Y. - New York will have a new  next year. Lieutenant Governor Bob Duffy has decided not to run for re-election.

Lt. Duffy handed in his resignation letter to Governor Andrew Cuomo. In the letter, he said he plans to help campaign for the next candidate that Governor Cuomo chooses. As for why he's not running again, all he would say is it is not a career or political reason.

Lt. Duffy has held this position since 2010.
