PARISHVILLE, N.Y. - New York State Police arrested a man they say stole a laptop computer from a residence on April 1.

New York State Police say they were able to locate the stolen laptop at 38-year-old Shawn McGregor's home from a smart phone app that allowed the victim to track her computer.

McGregor is being charged with 2nd degree burglary and 4th degree criminal possession of stolen property.

McGregor was arraigned and was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail.  He's due back in court on Wednesday.

Prior to his arrest, police say, McGregor has also been accused of shoplifting numerous items from a Walmart store in Malone. Charges for the shoplifting are pending.
