ALBANY, N.Y. - New York unveiled a new tool Wednesday that will help students estimate college costs.

A press release says students can compare differences, calculate net costs, and estimate the total cost of college by using the Financial Aid Award Letter Comparison Tool

“Knowledge is power, and with this tool we’re empowering students to make informed college choices based on what’s best for them," Governor Cuomo said. "Choosing the right college is a decision that lasts a lifetime but navigating and comparing financial aid offers can be confusing. Our Comparison Tool makes the real price of attending college more transparent so families can know what they’re getting into ahead of time."

The website uses data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook to provide salary estimates for selected occupations.
