Voters in New York cast ballots for school budgets all across the state.

According to the New York State School Board Association, a majority of districts do not expect to layoff employees.

"We have had 30,000 teachers laid off in the last few years and that's mostly been because of the lack of resources. The state aid is coming back. We are seeing an increase in state aid. We have been for the last three years," Executive Director of NYSSBA Timothy Kremer said.

Voters in Plattsburgh  are deciding on a $39.5 million school budget. That's down more than $100,000 compared to last year.

The school board says there are no cuts to programs or jobs.

The superintendent expects it to pass.

Other issues include electing school board members....and deciding how long their terms should be.

In an exit poll, people will be asked if they want to give veterans a state approved property tax exemption.  That's just to gather information.

Ultimately the board will decide.
