BRIGHTON, N.Y. - An autopsy found the manner of death of a Paul Smith College student to be an accident.

A press release says Nicolas Pendl, 19, of Allegany, N.Y., died from asphyxiation due to drowning. The drowning occurred after he experienced a seizure.

Pendl was found on the shoreline of lower St. Regis Lake. The body was found Tuesday afternoon face-down in the water a short distance behind the Clinton dorms.

Police say Pendl suffered for a known preexisting seizure disorder.
