Officials Holding Community Forum on Heroin

MALONE, N.Y. - Officials in Franklin County New York are holding a community forum on heroin Monday night.

A press release says the forum will provide an opportunity to learn about opiates and to ask questions.

Speakers at the event include Michael Nerney, Nationally Recognized Expert on Substance Abuse and Prevention; Trooper Samuel Mercado, NYSP Drug Recognition Expert in Albany, N.Y.; Suzanne Lavigne, Director, Franklin County Community Services; Christopher Premo, Malone Chief of Police; and Derek Champagne, Franklin County District Attorney.

The forum will be held at 6 p.m. at the Franklin Academy High School. The event is free. Snacks and beverages will be provided by the Malone Federation of Teachers.
