Police: Three Arrested After Falsely Reported Robbery

PERU, N.Y. - Three people were arrested after a falsely reported robbery on March 9.
New York State Police say they responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery at a residence on Allen Hill Road in Peru, involving a theft of prescription medication.
Leah Bola, 23, told police that 25-year-old Christy Burnell, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and three unknown people assaulted her and stole 7 Suboxone strips and $20.
Police located and arrested Burnell.
During questioning, police say, Burnell told Bola that she would purchase the Suboxone strips. Burnell went to Bola's residence to get the strips, but left without paying. Police say a physical altercation did not occur.
Burnell is charged with one count of petit larceny. She was arraigned at the town of Ausable Court and was remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.
Kathy Rovito, 55, is accused of driving Burnell to Bola's residence. She is charged with one count of petit larceny. She was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Ausable Court on March 19, 2014.
Bola is charged with one count of making a false written statement. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear before Town of Ausable Court on March 19, 2014.
