Police: Woman Attaches Drugs to 1-Year-old to Give to Imprisoned Boyfriend
By Joe Gullo
RUTLAND, Vt. - A woman is a accused of attaching drugs to her 1-year-old baby and giving them to her boyfriend currently imprisoned at the Marble Valley Correctional Facility.
Vermont State Police say Michelle Doaner, 25, of Whitehall, N.Y., is being charged for dispensing narcotics, transporting regulated drugs into places of detention, and cruelty of children for endangering a child. Munukka is being charged with possession of narcotics.
On March 31, Vermont State Police searched Munukka and found four strips of buprenorphine after a visit with his 1-year-old daughter.
Vermont State Police say Munukka contacted Doaner to bring him buprenorphine for him. The two then agreed to attach the drugs to their 1-year-old child so Munukka could get the drugs during their scheduled visit.
Since Munukka and Doaner are New York residents, New York Child Protective Services were notified of the incident.
Both are scheduled to appear in court in May.
