CHAZY, NY- The 200th commemoration of the Battle of Plattsburgh kicked off Saturday in Champlain, New York.
The actual celebration won't be until September, but the British have already invaded!
The March of the British began Saturday morning near Route 11, stopping in Chazy.
That's about 7 miles.
"Well this commemoration is quite good or big event for Chazy, because Chazy is small and Chazy was very important to the British as it was their staging area on their way to the battle," said Robert Cheeseman, Chazy Town Historian.
British re-enactors even did demonstrations for the public.
