CROYDON, N.H. - New Hampshire State Police say two young Vermonters are dead after a head-on crash late Friday night.
Police say it happened on NH Route 10 in Croydon just after 11:00 p.m.
An investigation revealed Kristine Lake, 22, of Sharon, Vt. was driving northbound on NH Route 10. Meanwhile, Michelle Fenimore, 20, of Brownington, was driving southbound.
Police say Lake's car drifted into the southbound lane. Fenimore tried to avoid the oncoming car, but was unable to, and both cars collided head-on.
Police say Fenimore and her passenger, Nicholas Carpenter, 18, of Coventry suffered life-threatening injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Lake suffered minor injuries; police subsequently arrested her for two counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Negligent Homicide.
She was released on $50,000 personal recognizance, and will be arraigned on charged in the Newport District Court on October 3, 2017 at 8:15 a.m.
At this time the crash investigation is being handled by the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R. Unit).
