Police: Alcohol, No Seatbelt Factors in Salisbury Crash

SALISBURY, Vt. - Vermont State Police say a Vermont woman is in critical condition after a Wednesday morning crash in Salisbury.

Troopers say it happened just after midnight at the intersection of Creek Road and Dewey Road. They say Danielle Austin, 39, of Leicester lost control of her vehicle while traveling west on Creek Road, hitting a utility pole.

Austin was transported to Porter Medical Hospital, and was later airlifted to the University of Vermont Medical Center.

Vermont State Police says she was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol was likely a factor.

State police continue to investigate.
