Police: Arson Fire at Vacant City-Owned Building in Rutland City

RUTLAND CITY, Vt. - A vacant city-owned building was intentionally set on fire in Rutland City, according to Vermont State Police.

 

It happened just after 11pm Saturday at 31 East Street.

 

Firefighters contained the fire to the front left porch area of the building. The building sustained moderate fire and water damage that will cost an estimated $25,000, officials say.

 

Investigators determined the fire was caused by direct human involvement and is classified as “incendiary.”

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the Arson Tip Line where up to $5,000.00 could be awarded in return for information regarding this fire.
