Colchester, Vt. - Colchester Police say a body believed to be the woman who went missing from a camp in Colchester on Sunday was found on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say Cynthia Whalen, 52, wandered away from a camp on Niquette Bay Road at 11:20 p.m. Sunday.
Colchester Police say the body was found in Lake Champlain in the area near Niquette Bay State Park . Police say a swimmer reported seeing a body floating in the water at around 3 p.m. Crews were able to recover the body.
On Tuesday, crews focused searching the waters of Niquette Bay.
During Monday’s search efforts, Whalen’s shoes were found near a beaver dam not far away from where she was last seen. Police say they appeared to have washed up there.
Police say foul play is not suspected.
