Richmond, Vt. - Vermont State Police say one driver was taken to UVM after her car hydroplaned on I-89 North in Richmond around 2 p.m. Friday. Traffic was reduced to one lane for several hours.
Officials say Heather Hull, 39, of Fairfax was heading south and hydroplaned, crossed over the median and into the northbound lane, crashing into a truck carrying logs.
The truck rolled upside down in the right-hand side of the road, according to a release from police. The driver, Christian Sagala, 36, of Quebec, suffered minor injuries, police said.
Authorities say Hull has serious, but non-life threatening injuries, and was taken to UVM.
The crash is still under investigation, but police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors. Wet roads and rainy conditions appear to have been factors in the crash.
