Police: High-risk Sex Offender to be Released Into the Burlington Area

Burlington, Vt. -

The Vermont Department of Corrections says a high-risk sex offender will be released into the Burlington area on Saturday.

Police say, James Crawford, 39, was convicted in 2007 of a charge of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child.  Authorities say there were also two incidents that occurred in 1998. The victims were between the ages of 10 and 15.

According to police,   Crawford did not complete his sex offender treatment but has served his term. He is expected to live in the city Burlington after he is released.  Police say he will be listed on the Vermont Sex Offender Registry.
