Colchester Police Arrest Suspect After Armed Robberies at two Stores

COLCHESTER, Vt. -  

Update:  Colchester Police arrested David Rosario,41, of Burlington has the suspect in the armed robberies that occurred early Tuesday morning.  

Police say Rosario will be arraigned on two counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted murder.

Police are looking for a man who they say robbed the Maplefields store on Route 7, off of I-89 Exit 17, in Colchester Tuesday morning.

Colchester Police say they got the call just before 12:30 a.m. They say a man walked into the store holding a knife, and demanded cash. Police say the man got some money, then left the store heading north toward Route 7.

Police say the suspect then robbed the Sunny Hollow Quick Mart where he once again entered holding a knife and demanded money. 

According to police, the clerk fought back and was injured. 

Detective Sergeant James Roy from the Colchester Police Department told Local 22 & Local 44 that Colchester and Milton Police K-9's were used to track the suspect down, but were unsuccessful.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 5'2 to 5'5 inches tall, with a stocky build. They say he was wearing a dark hoodie sweatshirt and blue jeans.
