The Colchester Police Department identified the student who died at St. Michael's College Friday.

The student is identified as Mohammed Al-Kharsan, 25, of Iraq. He was expected to get his Master's Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MATESOL) in May 2016.

At around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, police were notified by College Public Safety officers of a possible student death in Senior Hall located on Lime Kiln Road.

Police say Al-Kharsan died in his room sometime in the past few days.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine manner and cause of death. The preliminary investigation indicates his death to be from a sudden medical condition.

According to police, there is no indication of foul play.

The colleges says it is planning a memorial service for Monday, February 15 at 3:45 p.m. in the Roy Room of the Dion Family Student Center. All members of the community are invited to participate in the service.
