The Burlington Police Department arrested a man they say was distributing drugs from his residence.

During the investigation, police say they seized 550 bags of heroin from 42-year-old La-Shon McGee's residence. The approximate weight of the heroin is estimated to be 17 grams.

He was arrested on Monday and charged with heroin trafficking.

McGee was arraigned on Tuesday and was released on conditions with a curfew.

Police say McGee had prior convictions for domestic assault, simple assault, petit larceny in Vermont and criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a credit card, and acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 in New York.

If convicted, McGee could face up to 30 years imprisonment and a $1,000,000 fine, or both.
