Police: Owner of Abandoned Puppy Charged

Plattsburgh Police say the owner of the puppy that was abandoned on Wednesday has turned himself in. 

Police say Andrew Kimbler, 36, of Plattsburgh, turned himself into police on Thursday afternoon.  

According to investigators Kimbler was charged with abandoning the puppy, cruelty to animals, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd degree.

Officials say the puppy is doing well at an undisclosed location.  

Kimbler has been released pending further action in Plattsburgh Town Court. 

Plattsburgh Police wants to thank the community for their overwhelming response.
