UPDATE: Police Have Cleared Scene in St. Albans

St. Albans, Vt. - UPDATE:
St. Albans Police say they decided to reduce coverage around the area of Main Street and Taylor Park around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, after having the area blocked off all morning.
There are no police on-scene according to St. Albans Police Captain Ron Hoague, but they are monitoring the situation.
Police say they were called around 8:30 a.m. to an apartment above Bayberry Cottages for a report of burglaries at a couple of vacant apartments.  Authorities say a man suspected in those burglaries barricaded himself in his apartment, which police say is in the same building as the burglaries.
Police say the suspect is known to them, and has mental health issues.  Negotiators have spoken to him.
Authorities say the man is not a danger to himself or others, and has made no threats towards anyone.  Police say they are waiting for him to come out of the apartment on his own.
Local 22 & Local 44 has a  crew at the scene, and will continue to bring you updates as they become available.
