Public Service Board Addresses Sound Limits on Wind Farms

Montpelier, Vermont -

The Public Service Board is now weighing in on the rule that establishes a sound level limit on Vermont wind farms.

The board says the proposal came after hearing hundreds of comments from the public.

They say they want to minimize the negative impacts to residents living near wind turbines while not setting levels so low the turbines fail to do their job.

V-PIRG released a statement yesterday saying, “The Public Service Board heard from hundreds of Vermonters advocating for fact-based sound limits and a commitment to Vermont’s thriving clean energy economy. The board not only chose to ignore those Vermonters, it exceeded its authority under Vermont law in doing so.”
