Athletes in Essex Junction have helped raise money for the Emily M. Lyman Foundation.

The non-profit foundation provides financial support to Vermont families enduring pediatric cancer. Emily Lyman was diagnosed with leukemia when she was two and a half years-old, and died after relapsing for a third time in 2012.

Athletes from Regal Gymnastics raised $8,620 for the foundation over the course of two months. Fundraising was done door-to-door, online and through a 'Kids Night Out' event held at the gymnastics center.

Laura Reeves, who lost her brother to cancer at age seven, led the group of gymnasts to fundraise for the event.

According to Regal Gymnastics, the top fund raisers were:

Katherine Reeves $1385, Essex

Taylor Hoar $575, South Hero

Mira Woodside $535, Richmond

Ashley Poulin $490, Essex

Chloe Daniels $472, Essex
