RICHMOND, VT- Sunday was an important milestone for a farm in Richmond Vermont that's recovering from a devastating fire.

Maple Wind Farm was able to kick off the season with an open house, just like 50 other organic farms across the state.

But just last January, Maple Wind lost its barn in a fire.

Owner Bruce Hennesey said the fire caused about $300,000 in damages, and he said there's no way they could have sold produce and poultry without the support of fellow Vermonters, "We're had a lot of people give us support from the community, from outside the community to all over the country actually umm but primarily from these communities that we live in and they've sent us money, they've helped us clean up."

Hennesey added they hope to start construction on a new barn in September and have it finished this time next year.
