Montpelier Police say there will be some road closures during the Governor’s Corporate Cup 5K on Thursday, May 11.
Police expect more than 4,500 runners at the race and ask that motorists take extra care when traveling to that area and if possible avoid the course area from 5:30 p.m. till about 7:15 p.m.
Officials say the race is set to start at 6:00 p.m. in front of the State House.
Police say State Street by Taylor Street and Bailey Avenue will be closed from 5:30 p.m. until around 7:15 p.m. Memorial Drive will have one west-bound lane closed in the same area.
Bailey Avenue will be closed for a short time at the start of the race.
Gov. Davis Avenue, Court Street and Taylor Street will be closed when the race starts.
Officials say Winter Street, Summer Street, Pearl Street, Spring Street and Baldwin Street will have some traffic changes as well.
