Ron Philo Qualifies as Only Vermonter in U.S. Senior Open

Ron Philo has qualified as the only Vermonter in this year's 38th US Senior Open.  The Stowe Mountain Club Golf Director earned his place in the championship with a score of 69.

Philo says he's no stranger to competitive golf.  He's captured the 2006 Professional National Championships, is a five-time PGA Section Player of the Year, and four-time PGA Section champ.  He has competed in eight major championships, including one U.S. Open. 

Philo is the Director of Golf and Club Operations at Stowe Mountain Club. 

The 38th US Senior Open takes place June 29th through July 2nd at Salem Country Club in Salem, Massachusetts.

The US Senior Open is one of five major championships in senior golf, administered by the United States Golf Association.  The USGA received over 2,600 entries to play in the Senior Open.
