Montpelier, Vt - Governor Phil Scott proclaimed it school safety month in Vermont.
Memories of how the last school year ended with several threats made, were still fresh for some students.
The proclamation encourages schools to utilize state resources to always prepare educators and first responders for an all-hazards approach.
The state spent the summer focusing on threats following two separate lockdown situations in the spring in Essex and South Burlington.
Officials say information technology managers from all the state's schools met with federal officials in response to the threats.
