Sen. Schumer Backing Bill to Ban Bump Stocks

WASHINGTON, D.C. - New York Sen. Chuck Schumer is backing a bill to ban accesories like bump stocks.

Bump stocks allow legal weapons to fire at a rate close to those of illegal guns.

The Senate Minority leader is urging President Donald Trump to act, and not wait to see what the National Rifle Association says on the issue.

"You ran your campaign saying you were beholden to no one. You fashion yourself as a strong man. Well, are you going to show that you're not beholden to anyone now," said Schumer.

Schumer is calling on President Trump to become the first republican President to resist the NRA.
