MORETOWN, Vt. - School Officials at Harwood Union High School say the senior class has raised the funds to build a gazebo in honor of their classmates, who were killed in a wrong-way crash almost a year ago.
Mary Harris, 16; Cyrus Zschau, 16; Liam Hale, 16; Eli Brookens, 16; Janie Cozzi, 15 were on their way home from a concert last October, traveling south-bound I89 when the crash occurred near Williston.
Now the senior class at Harwood is looking to move forward and will dedicate their class gift, a gazebo to the five students and their memory.
As of September 19, the class raised $11,000 to buy the gazebo, now the class has a new goal of raising another $9,000. According to the school's website, the new amount is for adding electricity, buying light fixtures and plants. The students also want to add a plaque and start a maintenance fund.
A dedication ceremony is being planned for October 5th. To help Harwood’s senior class achieve their goal, click here.
