Shaved Heads to Raise Awareness for Pediatric Cancer

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Some dedicated souls shaved their heads to raise awareness for pediatric cancer.

Folks from the St. Baldrick's Foundation gathered at Foam Brewers in Burlington Sunday.

Organizers say 15 people got haircuts; eight of them fully shaved their heads.

One of the top fundraisers, Lindsey Furlong-O'Hara, decided to take the plunge in hopes of making a wig.

"I volunteer at Camp-Ta-Kum-Ta in South Hero, and so I work a lot with the kids there with cancer and heard that this was happening and thought that it would be a fun thing to do," said Furlong-O'Hara.

Foam Brewers also donated a dollar to the St. Baldrick's Foundation for every beer sold. Not including those sales, about $5,800 has been raised Sunday.
