Staying Safe on Bike to School Day

Experts are warning parents to make sure your kids are safe while on two wheels.

It’s part of national bike to school day.

A new report found nearly 40-percent of parents say their kid doesn't wear a helmet while riding a bike.

In 2015 more than 400-thousand kids went to the ER for bike injuries... something experts say can be avoided with the proper safety equipment.

"The problem is concrete is concrete and most of these kids are riding on hard surfaces and in the event of a crash even if they're away from traffic they can still end up with a serious head injury." Said Morag Mackay of Safe Kids Worldwide.

Some good news though, there have been fewer injuries over the last ten years.
