UPDATE: Troopers Observed Speeding Before Fatal Motorcycle Crash

NEW HAVEN, Vt. - Troopers observed a group of motorcyclists exceeding 100 mph before a fatal crash on Route 7 in New Haven Saturday, State Police say.

The update from police came Sunday as the investigation into the death of a 29-year old Essex Junction man is underway.

Police say a trooper observed the group speeding north on US Route 7 in Middlebury.

Then the trooper lost sight of the group and stopped pursuing due to the high speeds.

Shortly after that, Christopher Dusablon and Joshua Morris, 25, of Bakersfield, came upon another VSP cruiser on Route 7 near the Campground Road intersection in New Haven.

Police say Dusablon tried to turn left and collided with Morris. Then the pair hit a pickup truck.

Christopher Dusablon was pinned underneath the truck until rescuers could remove him, according to police. He was pronounced dead at Porter Hospital.

Joshua Morris was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered a broken ankle.

“The motorcycles involved in the crash matched the description of the motorcycles the Trooper attempted to stop in Middlebury,” the press release reads.

Morris was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license.

Police want to identify the other motorcycle operators involved. Anyone with information can contact the New Haven Barracks at 802-388-4919.
