Burlington, Vt - A milestone being celebrated The University of Vermont Medical Center Wednesday.
A ceremony was held to celebrate the topping out of the UVM Miller building.
Construction workers and staff raised a tree to the top of the new Miller building.
The building will have 128 new single-patient rooms and connects with the existing facilities.
85 to 90 percent of the rooms in the medical center are will accomodate a single patient and their family's.
"We can have the family and the loved ones with the patients they recover and it's well established that that quickens healing and improves the outcomes from in-patient care." Said Dr. John Brumstead
Construction on the building is expected to be finished in two years.
UVM officials say patients will not be impacted by the costs of construction.
