Vermont Man Dies After Motorcycle Crash in New York

North Hudson, N.Y. - The Essex County Coroner's Office and New York State Police are investigating a deadly two motorcycle crash on Tracy Road in North Hudson from around 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

Officials say the investigation indicates Paul Boivin of Addison, Vt. was heading east, when he failed to negotiate a steep right-hand turn, causing him to cross the center line and hit another motorcycle.

Authorities say the second motorcycle was driven by Randolph Lapier, of Mineville.  He was airlifted to UVM Medical Center.

Boivin was taken to Elizabeth Community hospital, and was pronounced dead, according to a release from the Coroner's Office.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit.
