Vermont: Preparation Underway for Open Farm Week

Montpelier, Vt. - Vermont's third annual Open Farm Week will be August 14–August 20 at farms across the state.

Open Farm Week is described as a collaborative agritourism project by the Vermont Department of Tourism.

According to the Vermont Department of Tourism, Open Farm Week provides visitors with opportunities to learn more about local farms, farmers and food origins.

Scheduled events include workshops on pickle making, maple syrup and alpacas.

Open Farm Week is presented by the University of Vermont Extension, Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Vermont Farm to Plate Network, Vermont Fresh Network, Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, Shelburne Farms and Farm-Based Education, NOFA-VT and City Market.

Events will start to be posted on DigInVt.com in June and be finalized by July.
