Vermont State Parks, Uber Team Up to Get People Outdoors

Parks officials say it's all part of Vermont Days this weekend

Burlington, Vt - Vermont State Parks is partnering up with Uber to get people outdoors.

This weekend parks will be open for free, as part of Vermont Days.

Uber, a ride-sharing company, will be offering rides from the Burlington area to Sand Bar State Park at a discounted rate. You can catch a ride tomorrow for $5 off. Drivers will enter the promotional code "VTDAYS" when a ride is booked.

Parks Sales and Service Manager Rochelle Skinner says they are trying to make sure all people can enjoy what the state parks have to offer.

"We’re always looking for ways to make the parks more accessible," she said. "This weekend is an excellent way to give people who might not otherwise visit a state park the chance to try it out."

Officials with Vermont State Parks hope to see this partnership expanded in the coming years to include more towns and parks.
