Vermont State Police: Driver Runs Cyclist Off the Road

Waterville, Vt. - Vermont State Police say an Eden man was arrested for being suspected of running a cyclist off the road and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to police, on Thursday, July 27 Michael Reagan, 45, was traveling on Route 109 in Waterville when he ran a 25-year-old from Northborough, Mass. who was on a bike off the road.  Police say Reagan then crashed his truck and fled the scene.

Investigators say Reagan’s truck matched the description of the bicycle incident and they were able to identify Reagan as the driver.  The cyclist was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

According to a media release, Reagan was held on $5,000 bail and is being charged with gross negligent operation with serious injury resulting, leaving the scene, criminal DLS, and reckless endangerment.
