SEARSBURG, Vt. - Vermont State Police are investigating a house fire in a home in Searsburg, Vermont.
State Police say it happened early Monday morning at around 5. The Wilmington Fire Department responded to 20 Bishop Road to a reported structure fire.
Police say upon arrival fire officials found the back of the home and the second floor, including the roof, were completely covered in flames. They were able to put out the fire with multiple assisting fire departments.
State Police say the fire was caused by a possibly failure of a large appliance. An electrical engineer is continuing to investigate the exact cause. Police do not consider the cause to be suspicious.
