Vermont State Police: Stockbridge Man Dies From Possible Electrocution

Stockbridge, Vt. - Vermont State Police say a Stockbridge man died on Monday from possible electrocution.

According to police, Brent Smith, 50 was standing in the yard at 564 Children’s Camp Road with other family members watching someone cutting branches from a tree.

Police say one of the tree branches being cut was accidently dropped on to a live power line and Smith dropped to the ground.

According to a media release, no one saw any debris hit Smith.

Investigators say Smith’s body might have been near some equipment that could have conducted electricity.

Police say an autopsy will be conducted but they did not find anything suspicious during the investigation.
