FAIR HAVEN, Vt. - Vermont State Police responded to U.S. Route 7 for a 10 gallon bucket of nails that fell onto the road. The incident happened at around 11 a.m. south of New Haven Junction.
Police say the nails spilled in the southbound passing lanes and were strewn across both northbound and southbound lanes.
The Vermont Agency of Transportation assisted in the cleanup where they collected thousands of nails.
