17 Dairy Farms Receive Grants

GEORGIA, Vt. - Seventeen Vermont dairy farms were awarded grants from the Vermont Farm and Forest Viability program.

More than $350,000 in grants will be give to help farmers build, expand, repair or upgrade their facilities. The money will also go towards improving herd management, working conditions, and cow health.

Governor Peter Shumlin was at Sizen Farm on Thursday to announce the grants. He said the grants aim to improve milk production and financial viability of Vermont dairy farms.
