BURLINGTON, Vt. - The 71-year-old man accused of attempted murder in the Hinesburg shooting incident appeared in court Friday. He pleaded not guilty.

A press release says Kenneth Clark was arraigned for a shooting incident that happened at a residence on Richmond Road in Hinesburg Thursday night. The shooting happened at around 8 p.m.

Court documents say that during a family fight, Clark told his daughter, 44-year-old Dawn Hall, that he was going to kill her. That's when police say Hall was shot.

Hall is in stable condition and is still receiving medical treatment. She was shot in the hand and chest.

During the fight, Clark is also accused of assaulting another daughter.

A judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation on Clark. He's due in court again next week.
