WILLISTON, Vt. - A Fourth of July tradition that has kids jumping in Williston.

This is the annual Williston frog jumping contest. It's been going on for 25 years.

The event was started by Bill Skiff who wanted to show kids all you need is some grass, string, and a frog to have fun.

"Seeing the children's faces and seeing them getting excited about jumping their frog and seeing their frog get a ribbon and they get so excited. And that's what's my favorite part," Bill Skiff, Author of Willie the Jumping Frog, said.

"This is the first time we've seen a frog jumping. I can't believe it. It's incredible," Bob Shepard, Illustrator of Willie the Jumping Frog, said.

Skiff and Shepard worked together on a new book called Willie the Jumping Frog.

People could pick up signed copies at the event on Friday.
