The Junior Development Camp for Biathlon took place at the Ethan Allen Training Site.
The 14 to 18-year-olds from all over the country are already good at cross-country skiing. But here they get to learn the other part of the biathlon, how to shoot.
"They come out of the camp knowing, 'Yes, I really want to to do this, I really want to invest some time' or 'No, I don't' and that's great," says Piotr Bednarski, U.S. Biathlon Association.
"It's a lot of endurance, a lot of competition. So you just do the best you can and try to stick with everyone," says Jake Pearson, biathlon camp attendee.
The camp continues this week with mock races that put together everything the athletes have learned.
