BURLINGTON, Vt. - A transition team has been announced to lead Burlington College as it searches for a new president. The announcement came on Monday from the board of trustees.

The college is looking for a new president to replace Christine Plunkett. She resigned Friday during a student protest.

Michael Smith will serve as the college's interim president. He will be joined by Jane Knodell, serving as Interim Provost, and David Coates, who will serve at Interim Financial Advisor.

"This team brings decades of management, academic, and financial expertise to the College as we deal with the challenges before us," said Yves Bradley, chairperson of the Board.

Christine Plunkett was the 5th president of Burlington College.
