A press release says the commission is seeking community input in the creation of a Superintendent Search Advisory Committee (SSAC). The SSAC will be composed of approximately 15 community members, school district employees, and school commissioners. The committee will review applicants and recommend them to the school board for final review.
“The Board believes it is essential to have broad representation from the community on the SSAC,” said Search Chair and Ward 2 Commissioner Brian Cina. “We want the search process to be thoughtful, and for it to tap into the strengths, talents, skills, and varied range of experiences and perspectives that we have in the Burlington community.”
Community members interested in participating on the SSAC should go to the "Superintendent Search" link on the District website and complete the SSAC Questionnaire. Questionnaires must be completed by 8:00 a.m. Thursday, August 28th.
The commission also announced the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for search consultants interested in providing their expertise to the search process. The RFP will be sent out to consultants across the the East Coast on Wednesday.
The RFP is available on the District website.
The board hopes to have a list of final candidates before the December holidays.
