MONTPELIER, Vt. - Camp Johnson will be hosting Boots to Business, a two-day course for service members and veterans who want to learn about starting a small business.

The workshop will be held on July 19 and 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the camp's Regional Training Institute.

“This is not about showing a cook in the Army how to start a catering service. It’s much more than that,” said Chris Herriman, Small Business Administration Vermont District Office Veterans Business Officer. “Boots to Business is about showing service members that they have attained invaluable skills in the military that make them suitable to run a variety of businesses. After the service they know how to plan, organize and lead. Often they have to do so in stressful situations.”

Boots to Business started as a pilot program in July 2012 to provide entrepreneurship awareness and training to transitioning service members.
