ST. ALBANS, VT- People in Saint Albans had the opportunity Saturday morning to sit down and have Coffee with a Cop.

The event is a chance for the community to meet local officers and discuss any issues, or even just ask questions.

This is the second time the Saint Albans Police Department has held this type of event.

Officers said its a great way to get to know the community.

"Even if we can get to talk to one or two or three people that's a success in our eyes. We aren't necessarily looking to pack a place its those one time connections we can make to get to know the people that you are working with and working for," said CPL. Jason Wetherby, St. Albans Police.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice.

Similar events are being held across the country, and saint albans police would like to continue to hold this type of event a few times each year.
