Daytona International Speedway -- NASCAR season begins Sunday at 1 on FOX 44 with the Daytona 500. Our area has strong connections to NASCAR and auto racing. It's not surprising with Thunder Road, Devil's Bowl and Airborne drawing good crowds during race season. Here is a list of Vemont connections:

Dave Rogers: Kyle Busch's crew chief, from Marshfield, VT

Richie Bean: Underneath mechanic and front hose puller for #39 (Ryan Newman) car. From Bradford, VT.

Shane Wilson: RCR crew chief from South Royalton, VT. He's been with Bowyer and Harvick and is now RCR's Brendan Gaughan's truck series crew chief.

Ken Squier: Legendary NASCAR announcer, lives in Stowe, VT.

Kevin Lepage: Two top tens at Daytona. Trying to make a NASCAR comeback but last week tweeted, "Doesn't look like I'll be racing in Daytona. All my sponsor deals fell apart."

Are we missing any local connections? Let us know!
